You are a Star Rover,
and I, a galaxy.
You travel all around the universe,
and I am caged by my gravity.
You are a Star Rover,
and I, a satellite.
In pursuit of tangency,
stubborn to burst, I circle
spinning around your route.
You are a Star Rover,
and I, a moon.
In my rivers your
hot flashes groove.
You, too, are caged.
You are a Star Rover. Colder
than the ice stones you’ve seen, harder
than the hearts you’ve broken I am
a star.
And I am caged by your gravity.
You are a Star Rover, and I,
the shade of your light
wanders in my insides, my cavities,
calming the calamities of my heart,
burning the riots of the dark.
You are a Star Rover. And I
am a verse. I disappear, immerse
in the song in your ear. Still,
you hear my whistle
hover in your pulse.
You are a Star Rover.
Unbound by life,
you cross my slant, and leave
the stardust for memory.
